SDL Research on Environmental Issues (feb 1 '08)

Please do a thorough research on the key issues and events related to the environment. It isn't as simplistic as reuse, reduce recycle haha! time to stop preaching in your essays, peeps. no more 'you musts' in your arguments OK? the questions on environment require more than a list of problems and solutions. you need to address the larger issues and possible limitations to so called saving 'mother earth' :cough: pls stop using that term too. it's just painfully silly to read...

Look up:
+ the Bali Summit '07
+ the Kyoto Protocol '98
+ Biodiversity
+ Sustainable Development
+ GAIA
+ Greenpeace

- also look into Al Gore's arguments in An Inconvenient Truth and those who dispute the scientific credibility of it, such as this article and this

and if you have time, watch The Story of Stuff and process how this has an impact on our values about the environment.

SDL Research on Political Systems (fri 4th jan 08)

OK peeps, it's important that before we discuss issues like Globalization and War, you should familiarize yourselves with the following terms and apply them accordingly to the forms of government of different nations. So please do some research on
1. Republic
2. Democracy
3. Communism
4. Socialism
5. Dictatorship

(you could add more of your own based on prior knowledge of the topic. suprise me!)

Also try to find examples of countries for each ruling system above.

Post them all on your beeaauutyfoool blogs ok?
